Indian and Forest Acres

Indian and Forest Acres

Indian and Forest Acres is a community where campers between the ages of 7 and 16 develop physical, social and leadership skills. Indian Acres Camp for Boys and Forest Acres Camp for Girls are separate brother-sister camps, located two miles apart along the Saco River in Fryeburg, Maine. We are two camps, but one community; working together to cultivate a comfortable, encouraging and fun environment for kids to enjoy a summer full of sports, the arts, team building activities, and develop friendships while learning a variety of skills and values.

A successful summer at camp is filled with many accomplishments both on and off the field. The key to our success is individual attention. Indian and Forest Acres encourage as much independence as a child is capable of handling to achieve their goals. Each day children can engage in a variety of activities. Our program is structured so that all campers are active during each activity period, while also providing choices to meet personal needs.

Campers of both Indian and Forest Acres thrive throughout the summer as they learn to grow, develop interests and skills, and make friendships that last a lifetime. Most importantly, a successful summer for a child at our camps is about fun. It is also filled with accomplishments. Campers and counselors alike leave camp at the end of the 7-week period having formed new friendships and lasting memories of their summer under the pine trees. We call this the magic of camp!

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ali H.

My family has sent four generations of campers to IA/FA. My daughter is counting the days til she leaves for her 3rd summer. She has learned to be independent and strong, made so many great friends and gets to try so many new and exciting activities every day. FA is her second home.

Our kids are first gen campers and they love it! It is so much more than just their “summer place”. It is their second home and Family. -

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leiasa B.

My husband, Eric, spent 9 years at Indian Acres. Now our children are spending their second year and having the best summer of their lives. It wasn't easy for this Californian to send her children away for the summer. I'm comforted by the level care and conscientiousness of Moe Burness and the continuity of staff. Our children are in cabins with children who went to camp with their father. The New England tradition of summer camp carries on to another generation.

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jacob S.

I was a camper for 8 summers and I can say as of now that they were the best summers of my life. From the rich camp culture to the amazing inclusive community, Indian acres is simply the best place in the world. There are no words to describe how amazing it is and life-changing it is, you just have to be there and figure out for yourself.
